The Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers post for Peacekeeper positions at least once per year. Depending on the needs of the department the number of positions varies. Any and all Job Postings for the KMPK will always be made available on this website with detailed instructions on how to apply!

In order to obtain a “Security Check” you must provide the following:
1) Photo copy of drivers license
2) Fill out the Privacy Waiver form
3) There is a $60.00 fee

This service is for Local people only (Kahnawake Residents)
Results are done every Tuesday afternoon. You can have it mailed to you or you can pick it up! It is your option.


Do I need my high school diploma to apply to become a Peacekeeper?
Yes, you need to possess a High School Diploma to apply.

Do I need a driving license to apply to become a Peacekeeper?
Yes, you are required to have a valid driver’s license when you apply for the Peacekeepers. It is one of the first requirements identified on the Job Posting.

How old do I have to be to apply?
You must be 21 years of age to apply.

I have a criminal conviction from when I was 17. Does this stop me from being able to apply?
Not necessarily! The nature and circumstances of the offence will be considered carefully. You must declare all convictions and cautions, INCLUDING: Traffic offenses, on your application form. You must also declare any involvement in a criminal investigation, irrespective of the outcome!

Is fitness important?
Yes, Candidates are ”fitness” tested as part of the recruitment process and officers will be regularly tested during probation. Fitness levels should be maintained during service.

Can I become a police officer if I have a tattoo?
Tattoos are not a hindrance to being accepted but their nature, size and location will be taken into account. For example, they must not be obscene, rude, racist, sexist, sectarian, homophobic, violent or intimidating. If you have tattoos on your face, neck, forearms or hands you need to declare it on your application form and describe their exact nature.

How can I find out if I have a criminal record?
A security check is conducted upon your application for the position. You will be informed by the KMPK- Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers if you do have a criminal record.

How long does the recruitment process take?
Once you have submitted your application, the process can take between 6 to 9 months before you find out whether an offer of employment will be made. There are many levels of testing, security checks and approvals that must be conducted at each stage not only by the Peacekeepers but also by the Training Institution that we collaborate with.

If my application is unsuccessful, how soon can I reapply?
You can reapply as soon as the next posting. However, if it is due to failure of the previous selection process be aware that it is your responsibility to address and correct the area of concern before reapplying.
